Prosecutors on the Trump Investigation resigned

Mark Pomerantz and Carey Dunne, who were the lead criminal investigators in the Trump prosecution in Manhattan, resigned their positions suddenly on February 23 in the middle of their  evidence presented to a grand jury. Both were tasked with investigating the Trump Organization for lying about the value of their assets in order to get favorable bank loans.  But why did Mark and Carey resign?

Both Mark and Carey submitted their resignations because the new Manhattan district attorney, Mr. Bragg, indicated that the case against Mr. Trump is unlikely to move forward. It’s unclear why Mr. Bragg made this move and he hasn’t provided any public explanation on this topic. Perhaps the numerous challenges faced by Mark and Carey while pursuing this case might be a reason for this. The most significant challenge is being unable to convince any Trump organization officials to openly speak on the matter.

The grand jury term is set to expire in April. Although the investigation is not over yet, the future is not looking good.

Andrew Johnson (1868), Bill Clinton (1998), and Donald Trump (2021) were all presidents of the United States who were tried for impeachment. All three presidents were accused of crimes while in office.

Mark and Carey have been rarely seen after submitting their resignations.  Carey’s and Mark’s resignation has raised suspicion; what is the Trump family up to? Although the Trump family is still being investigated for other crimes, nothing concrete has surfaced as yet.
