Global Warming: Is it something that this generation should try to deal with or should we leave it to another generation?

Global warming is the phenomena named after the continuous rise of the average temperature of the planet starting in the early 1800s. Many have pointed to the industrial revolution as the cause for this trend noting their heinous output of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, effectively making the planet an oven. Global warming has contributed to a rise in the sea level, longer and more dangerous wildfires as seen in the most recent California wildfire that devastated the state and more dangerous weather like increased in tornado and hurricane outbreaks. Furthermore, global warming has lead to a lot of change in a lot of peoples day to day life and if left untreated will continue to do so until it is too late.

Leaving global warming untreated will be one of the biggest mistakes humanity makes, for the data is very telling and it outlines a very grim reality that will soon come upon us. We as a society must not, under any circumstances, leave the issue of global warming for the next generation to fix. The longer we leave the issue alone, the longer we kick the can further down the road, the worse we make our own living conditions. At some point, we may live on a planet that, due to our own doing, no longer houses many species that had formerly been alive for eons.

It is the duty of this generation to make sure that that doesn’t happen, to fight against the corporations and legislation that lead us further and further down this spiral of doom. If this generation doesn’t act now, it may be too late for the next one to try.
