Editor-in-Chief: Katherine Sundstrom
Katherine Sundstrom is a senior at Richard Montgomery High School. A current news editor for her school’s newspaper, The Tide, and a former news editor for The MoCo Student, she is thrilled to be working with The MoCo Student again this year. In her free time, she loves making fun drinks, reading classic literature, and watching tennis.
Editor-in-Chief: Jessica Yao
Jessica Yao is a senior at Richard Montgomery High School. She is a former MoCo News editor and writer and is currently the Science and Technology editor for her school’s newspaper, The Tide. In her free time, she loves to play the flute and play volleyball.

Chelsea Zhu is a senior at Richard Montgomery High School. She is honored to serve her fourth year in the MoCo Student, previously editing for Features and writing for Arts & Cultures. She loves arancinis and autumn.
Copy Editors: Pragna Pothakamuri
Pragna Pothakamuri is a senior at Thomas S. Wootton High School and is excited to start her fourth year on the MoCo Student and second year as copy editor. She has previously written for the MoCo Student as a features writer and is currently a managing editor for Wootton’s Common Sense newspaper. In her free time, she enjoys creative writing, personality quizzes, and spending time with family and friends.
Copy Editors: Arav Giragani
Arav Giragani is a senior at Poolesville High School. He is serving his second year as a Copy Editor for The MoCo Student and also writes as a Science and Technology reporter for his school newspaper, The Poolesville Pulse. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies (Letterboxd: shrimpptempuraa), building LEGO sets, and reading literary fiction.
News Editor: Daniela Naaman
Daniela Naaman is a junior at Thomas S. Wootton High School. She is delighted to enter her third year contributing to The MoCo Student, for which she was previously a Features and Arts and Culture writer. She loves to read, play viola, learn new languages, and explore museums.
MoCo News Editor: Callie Deng
Callie Deng is a junior at Richard Montgomery High School. Aside from being the MoCo News editor, she is also an assistant editor for her school’s newspaper, The Tide. In her free time, she loves trying new snacks, hiking, and seasonal drinks.
Features Editor: Huan Changvu
Huan Changvu, a senior at Winston Churchill High School, has been with the MoCo Student for six years, starting out in Young Writers in middle school. He has been a steady contributor to the Features section since 9th grade. When he’s not chasing stories or editing, he is probably headbanging to cello music, playing tennis, or folding origami humans.
Opinions Editor: Anjali Harrison
Anjali Harrison is a senior at Montgomery Blair High School. She is currently the managing editor for her school’s online news publication, Silver Chips Online, and a former Young Writers editor for The MoCo Student. She is excited for her third year on the publication. In her free time, she loves reading, hiking, and watching movies.
Arts & Cultures Editor: Avni Koenig
Avni Koenig is a senior at Thomas S. Wootton High School. Also a staff writer for her school’s newspaper, Common Sense, she has served as an Opinion writer and Sports and Features editor for The MoCo Student throughout her time in high school, and is thrilled to be back this year as the Arts & Culture editor. In her free time, Avni enjoys playing basketball, reading, playing guitar, and spending time with friends.
Design Editor: Ayza Siddiqi
Ayza Siddiqi is a senior at Clarksburg High School. As former writer, editor, and graphic designer, she is excited to continue her fifth year in MoCo Student as graphic design section editor. She loves spending her free time making pottery in her AP art class or studying at different cafes.
Design Editor: Samiya Mirakbar
Samiya Mirakbar is a senior at Walter Johnson High School who’s excited to start her third year at the MoCo Student, and second year as the graphics section editor. At school, she’s secretary of Art Honors Society, and after school, works as a member of the Student Council at the National Portrait Gallery. As a passionate artist, she enjoys painting and photography, both through her extracurriculars and free time. When she’s not painting, she loves to hang out with her cat.
Young Writers Editor: Isabella Langlee
Isabella Langlee is a senior at Richard Montgomery High School. She is the current Arts Editor for her school’s newspaper and is excited to return as a Young Writers Editor for The MoCo Student. When she’s not chasing down interviewees, she’s searching for her next snack, fast-forwarding through a movie, fighting the captivity of negativity or dilly-dallying.
Multimedia Editor: Jay Resnik
Jay Resnik is a junior at Walter Johnson High School. He is currently an Online Editor-in-Chief for the WJ Pitch, and is very excited to serve as a Multimedia Editor for the MoCo Student this year. In his free time, Jay likes hiking, wrestling and playing guitar.
