For everyone searching for movies to watch, the holidays are usually a source of new and original releases that satiate our desires for new content. As the winter movie season ends, let’s recap some of the biggest movies from the 2021-2022 holiday season:
Spider-man: No Way Home is without doubt an immensely awaited movie by Marvel supporters. It features two of Hollywood’s sweethearts, Tom Holland as Spiderman and Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones. The couple, which began dating while filming the first Spiderman movie together, recently confirmed their relationship in July. Besides this, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios signed a new long-term deal regarding all future Spiderman movies. They had encountered disputes over the legal ownership of Spiderman, but decided to put aside disagreements and collaborate on movies from this point forward.
The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star is also a sensational sequel to the first two Princess Switch films. This film features three lookalike women all played by Vanessa Hudgens—Stacy Juliette De Novo Wyndham, Lady Margaret Katherine Claire Delacourt and Lady Fiona Pembroke—who all unite as a team to recover the stolen Star of Peace. This irreplaceable antique was a gift to the royal family from Saint Nicolas. It became tradition to position the star on the top of the Christmas tree to celebrate the New Year. Hudgens’s triple role proved to be challenging, what with perfecting the alignment of the characters’ interactions, swapping makeup, hair and clothing, and memorizing lines.
Additionally, The Matrix Resurrections is a long-expected sci-fi action thriller. This is the fourth and final movie following the original Matrix in 1999. This film explores a dystopian universe with concepts related to machines, the human mind, artificial worlds, fate and the complex world. The Matrix is an illusion developed by technology that dominates humanity. When Neo, a computer programmer, discovers that society is trapped in the simulation, he begins a rebellion against the machines. The original Matrix was considered to be a huge success, grossing a spectacular total of $460 million and receiving splendid reviews from critics. It was even awarded Best Film Editing, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound at the Academy Awards. You can stream The Matrix Resurrections today only in theaters or on HBO Max. Stars Priyanka Chopra, Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves all take part in the film.
These three extraordinary films are by no means the only noteworthy films of the holiday season. Eternals, West Side Story, Sing 2, A Castle for Christmas, Love Hard, Don’t Look Up, and The King’s Man are additional recent releases to binge with your family!
