Given everything that’s going on in the world today, it’s easy to forget to enjoy the smaller things in life, such as a new restaurant opening.
However, new restaurants have been popping up all over the map, and more specifically within the DMV.
RASA is the newest Indian Cuisine spot to grace the DMV, and with a 4.5 star rating, it’s doing just that. RASA resides on the streets of Washington, D.C., and you’d be able to spot it from a mile away, with its colorful lettering and lively wall art.
The food matches the entire vibe of the place, and nothing you could get there would bore you. Although the place is fairly casual, it still feels as if it is a grand event to go there.
A review from Michael Williams states, “RASA is the next big thing… the Indian food is authentic and so good!” Good food and a beautiful setting are sure to make for the perfect dining experience, but COVID-19 almost put that to a halt. Although RASA is still not open for dine-in service in order to keep customers safe, you can still enjoy the food with takeout or delivery.
La Brasita, a new Latin Cuisine spot in the DMV, does things a little differently. Located in Derwood, MD, it’s open for all businesses. Which is great, considering their 4.9-star review average.
It’s a cute spot with quite authentic Latin food and drink. It’s family owned, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Aside from the food, it’s ultimately the friendly staff and upbeat music that makes for a fun and memorable experience.
A review from Zachary Kaplan stated, “Great prices, great food, and a very friendly staff,” which sums up the La Brasita experience quite nicely. Owners Emilio and David Campos were able to open the restaurant late 2019, and even with the unfortunate COVID-19 situations, business has been booming ever since.
Last but certainly not the least, Shibuya Eatery, a new Japanese restaurant in the heart of D.C., has so much to offer. Their 4-star rating is well deserved, with their authentic food and Japanese themed interior that seemingly transports its diners to another continent. Selling plates packed with flavorful Japanese street food, Owners Darrin Norris and Candace Wise-Norris have created a casual environment where you can relax and unwind with good food.
“Everything I ordered from Shibuya was delicious… I’ll definitely be back,” Ashely Porter enthusiastically stated in a review. Shibuya is open for takeout, delivery, and dine in. They just opened back up for business about three weeks ago, and although they have different COVID-19 hours, they are still seeing frequent business.
Despite the total focus on the pandemic sweeping the nation, new businesses have been opening up all over the DMV. It’s a good thing too, because without the excitement of new, unfamiliar places and unique, tasty foods to discover, the DMV would surely find itself in a rut.
