Students across the county celebrate Spring Break

Spring break, though only six days long this year, is a time to unwind, travel, celebrate Easter, and/or study for upcoming exams. Students from around the county all have different ideas for how to use their well-deserved days off:

“I’m going to see colleges tomorrow, but otherwise I’m staying home.”

     – Julie Yang, Wootton Junior

“Well since spring break is so short there’s really not much to do. So I’ve been practicing driving, studying for APs and hanging out with friends.”

     – Michelle Gu, Northwest Junior

“I’m not really doing anything, but this Saturday I’m going to Woodbridge, Virginia. That’s pretty much it but yesterday I went to Marshalls.”

     – Katherine Chen, Churchill Freshman

“Running my first marathon! Haha, just kidding. I’m sitting on my bed and recovering from an ankle injury.

     – Katie Zhang, Richard Montgomery Junior

“To be honest, my plans are not very interesting. I’m just going to New Orleans,”

     – Grace Zhou, Richard Montgomery Junior

“I’m planning on study for exams and doing different little things with friends, like I tried making macarons yesterday with them. As a senior who doesn’t have much time left, I’m trying to spend more time with people as supposed to pure studying.”

     – Tesia Shi, Richard Montgomery Senior

“I’m planning on finishing some of the AP exam preparation packets for BC Calculus and go on college visits. I went to Georgetown yesterday, and I’m gonna visit Princeton. I got a lot of piano work to do, and I have a violin rehearsal and recital.”

     – Holly Lam, Richard Montgomery Junior

“I’m mostly visiting colleges, doing some homework and attempting to make soap.”

     – Christine Zhou, Richard Montgomery Junior

“Well right now I’m on my way back from a very brief tour of east coast colleges. Yesterday I took a tour of Yale and went to a concert and informal tour at New England Conservatory, and tomorrow I’m playing a Good Friday gig at a church.”

     – Corinne Foley, Richard Montgomery Junior

“We flew to San Francisco. So basically we’re visiting Stanford and Berkeley and also exploring San Francisco and San Jose, and we also went to Google and Apple.”

     – Cathy Yung, Richard Montgomery Junior

“I’m just cramming for APs since spring break is only SIX days. I’m probably not gonna have enough time. I’m also doing a short trip to New York City.”

     – Angela Mu, Richard Montgomery Junior

“I visited Georgetown and had Korean BBQ and hot pot on Tuesday. I also visited this place called Grounds for Sculpture in New Jersey. It’s basically a huge park with large sculptures. I visited Longwood Gardens and UPenn today. Longwood Gardens is so pretty.”

     – Liang Lin, Montgomery Blair Junior
