On February 26, over two hundred student delegates representing schools across MCPS will convene at Springbrook High School to elect the final two candidates for next year’s Student Member of the Board of Education. Six candidates hailing from across the county have filed for candidacy in this year’s race. Earlier this month, the MoCo Studentvideo team sat down with the candidates for a brief interview about their aspirations and agendas as the potential SMOB for the 2015-2016 school year.
The following are this year’s candidates:
- Rachit Agarwal – Richard Montgomery High School
- Richard Banach – Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School
- Harris Baylin – Wheaton High School
- Eric Guerci – Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School
- Cameron Reed – Springbrook High School
- Zachary Williams – Montgomery Blair High School
Note: Equipment issues interfered with the audio for candidate Zachary Williams. As there was not another opportunity for the interview, the MoCo Student has included subtitles for his portions. The MoCo Student aims to present each candidate equally and does not make endorsements for SMOB candidates.
